 Abu Dhabi Embraces the Emirate's Brand Identity

Residents of Abu Dhabi and visiting tourists have both embraced the Emirate's new brand identity, as they believe it captures the spirit and essence of the destination, according to the results of a recent survey carried out by The Office of the Brand of Abu Dhabi (OBAD). The survey covered more than 2,700 respondents who visited The Essence Collection Exhibition, which travelled to prominent locations around the Emirate of Abu Dhabi throughout May and June 2008.

GCC tourist influx into Sharjah has substantially grown in summer 2008, registering over 170, 000 tourists in the first half of 2008. The tourist influx is expected to see further increase up to the end of summer season.

 Number of South Korean visitors to Dubai increase 50%

The number of South Korean visitors arriving at Dubai International Airport (DIA) has increased by 50 per cent at the end of the first half of 2008, in comparison with the numbers by end of 2007, according to figures by Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department (DNRD). DIA registered the arrival of 32,370 South Korean visitors during the first half of 2008 alone, whereas only 42,000 South Korean visitors passed through the airport in the whole year of 2007.

 ADTA seals Australia representation accord

Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) has opened a representation office in Sydney, Australia to build destination awareness among the country's increasing number of overseas travellers.  Road shows in Brazil raise general awareness about Dubai attractions

The Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) recently hosted the inaugural Dubai Road Shows in Brazil with the aim of increasing the general awareness about the attractions in Dubai and the facilities for the tourists from the region.

 ADTA delegation plans road show in China

The Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) is packing all travel brochures, goody bags and souvenirs from the UAE capital for its delegation's trip to China later this month.

Zayed Port, which is run by the Abu Dhabi Terminals Company (ADTC), received Friday huge cruise ship 'Crystal Symphony', carrying 800 tourists of 25 different nationalities.  Desert Islands to spearhead Western region's tourism development

The first phase of Abu Dhabi's unique Desert Islands destination, which is set to be a regional showpiece of sustainability, is to open to tourists this winter heralding the entry of the emirate's largely untapped western region on the international tourism and development landscapes.
