The mandate of the Abu Dhabi Systems and Information Committee (ADSIC) is to provide an electronic link between the various local government bodies and the federal government and to facilitate procedures for all customers. This was stated by experts who attended the electronic government forum yesterday that highlighted the latest developments and plans of Abu Dhabi Government to facilitate its services to customers.

 UAE ranks 32nd in UNDESA e-government readiness index

The UAE was ranked 32nd in e-government readiness index among the 192 member states in the fourth-edition of the eGovernment survey conducted by United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA). The country, which came 42nd in 2005, has outperformed other Gulf countries. The report ranks Bahrain 42nd, followed by Qatar at 53, Kuwait at 57, Saudi Arabia at 70 and Oman at 84.

 UAE ranks 5th in transactional services in UN e-Government survey

The 2008 United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) UN eGovernment Survey has ranked the UAE in 5th position in terms of transactional services, just behind developed countries like Sweden, Denmark, Norway and the US.
The survey also placed the UAE 32nd among 192 UN Member States in the 2008 eGovernment Readiness Index, while the country achieved the 12th position in the web measurement index, which rated the online presence of national websites and selected ministries,

 Federal e-government strategy set to take all departments online

The government is working on a federal e-government strategy in order to take public sector activities fully online, Economy Minister Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi said yesterday.
"The Ministry of Government Development is taking this initiative. There is a council created to mobilise this initiative at the federal level," Sheikha Lubna told Gulf News.
