UAE's RCA to dispatch relief aid to drought-hit Somalia Posted on 17/08/2008
UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of Red Crescent Authority (RCA) H.H Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan yesterday gave orders to dispatch urgent food relief aid to Somali areas hit by drought and famine, said RCA yesterday.
"The humanitarian relief aid which is aimed to support Somali people in times of crisis is a personal grant from Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed," according to RCA Secretary General Dr. Saleh Musa Al-Tae'e who did not say how much is the grant.

The total cost of humanitarian programmes conducted by the UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) from 1997- 2008, was Dh104.080 million.
