UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of Red Crescent Authority (RCA) H.H Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan yesterday gave orders to dispatch urgent food relief aid to Somali areas hit by drought and famine, said RCA yesterday. The total cost of humanitarian programmes conducted by the UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) from 1997- 2008, was Dh104.080 million. The Red Crescent Authority (RCA) has commenced preparations for launching a humanitarian relief programme in the drought-hit Ethiopia and Somalia.
